Planetary mixers are the industry standard for the most efficient mixing of all grades of concrete. The three blade ‘egg whisk’ mixing action on each head gives complete coverage of the entire floor of the mixing pan. The blades rotate on an ever-changing axis, as the gearbox spins the blade carrying spider.

This means no segregation of aggregates, with heavier material migrating to the panwall, as is the case with standard rotating pan mixers. The mix from a planetary mixer is therefore more consistent.

Our planetary mixers give you stronger concrete, using less water and less cement, because the high consistency mix gets all the stone and sand fully coated with cement.

Cleaning of the pan is also simpler and quicker as there is no central turret to obstruct the operation. All blade adjustment and maintenance functions are carried out on top of the mixer, making the service much simpler and quicker.

Mixing arms and paddles

Mixing arms and scraper blades of planetary mixer
Sicoma OMG’s NI-Hard cast iron mixing arms with mixing blades (or paddles) are set three on a star, with one, two or three stars depending on the size of your mixer. This formation means our planetary mixers give a thorough mix, every mix. Homogeneous every time.

The arms and paddles push the mix, rather than cut through it, so along with the thickened paddle edges, help to minimise wear. Made from NI-Hard iron at 600HB, our arms are abrasion resistant, and their adjustment slots allow you to move the blades to compensate for wear.

Easy-access junction box
You need easy access to your electronics. One junction box for all your mixer’s electronic connections, including the 3-phase power for mixer motor(s) and solenoid valves and switches.

Hydraulic Power Pack

Hydraulic power pack and manual door level
Dedicated power for your mixer’s hydraulics, giving power to open all discharge doors reliably even on the largest of our mixers. For safety and peace of mind, an optional additional manual level means doors can be opened in the case of a power failure.

Gear Box

Double horizontal gearbox
Over 60 years of mixer experience makes our gearboxes the best in the business. The huge double horizontal design gives strength and shock resistance. And the wide horizontal oil bath gives every gear optimum lubrication and keeps the whole gearbox cool whilst running.

Discharge doors

Discharge doors
Our mixers have up to four concentric swing-out doors for fast discharge, aided by tailed floor scraper blades. Rubber seals mean they are watertight and won’t jam. All mixer doors are hydraulically powered as standard, but with the option of pneumatic if required. Smaller Sicoma OMG mixers can have manually operated doors.

Mixer lid

Sicoma OMG supply mixer lids, including inspection hatches, in various formats. As standard, one semi-circular mixer lid for inspection and maintenance. If required, this lid can be split in up to three sections and an additional lid could be put on the other side of the mixer. Our largest models have one cover, hydraulically powered for easy-access.
